Gainesville

Frank Buck Zoo. Named for one of Gainesville's favorite native sons, "Bring em Back Alive" Frank Buck. The zoo is a remnant of the Community Circus that operated from the 1930's into the 1950's and was comprised solely of performers who were local business professionals and their family members.

Morton Museum. Housed in the 1884 city hall/fire station, the museum provides exhibits of Cook County history which are updated quarterly. Architectural items of significance are included in the structure of the building itself.

Madill
Fort Washita. Built originally to protect the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes, the fort served to battle raiding plains tribes, mostly Comanches. During the Civil War, the fort became the major supply depot and regional headquarters for Confederate troops in Indian Territory.

Denison
Eisenhower Birth Place. Birthplace of five-star general and the 34th president of the United States. Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890. The house has been restored to look as it did in the 1890s.

Munson Memorial Vineyards. Grape vineyard & museum honoring a Texan decorated by the Government of France for saving that country's wine industry.Along with a lovely vineyard, the Grayson County College Viticulture and Encology Center houses a library, classroom and office space, and facilities for processing grapes, juice, and wine.

Red River Railroad Museum. This museum if the official repository of historical records and artifacts of the Katy Railroad Historical Association and should be part of any train buff's tour of Denison. Numerous showcases exhibit railroad memorabilia along with static display of railroad cars and engines.

Grayson County Frontier Village. Located in Loy Park, this pioneer settlement of 17 homes and buildings has been carefully restored to present an accurate portrayal of life in the mid-1800s. A museum housed in a log cabin displays artifacts of early life in Grayson County.
